The short answer

GymQuest is training inside a living fantasy world

Every GymQuest programme combines practical workout programming with an RPG-inspired journey. The fantasy gives each session context and consequence, while the training remains structured around a clear purpose.

Getting started

Entering Ironbound

What is GymQuest?
GymQuest creates structured fitness programmes presented as immersive adventures. Your completed workouts move the story forward, and some programmes allow your choices to change both the narrative route and the training ahead.
Where should a new player begin?
The recommended starting point is Prologue: The Road to Greymere. It is a free four-week gym adventure that introduces Ironbound, the GymQuest format and the story leading into Chapter I. Begin the free prologue.
Must I complete the prologue before Chapter I?
No. Playing the main Ironbound campaign in order is the recommended experience, but every available chapter remains understandable and usable independently.
What is Ironbound?
Ironbound is the dark-fantasy world of GymQuest, where every workout carries your adventure forward. The main campaign and the separate Monster Hunter series both take place within it.

Training & equipment

Finding a suitable programme

Are these real workout programmes?
Yes. Every adventure begins with a structured training programme. The story is built around the progression rather than being used as a substitute for it.
Are GymQuest programmes suitable for beginners?
The currently available Adventures and Monster Hunter programmes are intended for beginner-to-novice trainees. Check the experience, equipment, schedule and session length shown on the individual product page before starting.
Do I need a gym?
The Road to Greymere and The Goblins of Greymere require a well-equipped home or commercial gym. The Monster Hunter Home Workout Programme is designed for home training and can be completed without equipment, with dumbbells available as an optional route.
How much time does a programme require?
The Road to Greymere and The Goblins of Greymere use four sessions per week of up to 60 minutes. Monster Hunter uses four sessions per week of up to 30 minutes.
Can story choices change the workouts?
In some adventures, yes. The Goblins of Greymere uses narrative route choices to determine whether the later training focuses on hypertrophy, strength or muscular endurance. Every route is designed as a complete programme.

Adventures & tools

How the products connect

What is the main campaign order?
The recommended chronology is Prologue: The Road to Greymere, followed by Chapter I: The Goblins of Greymere, then Chapter II: The Battle for Highkeep Hold when available. Later chapters are not locked behind earlier purchases.
Is Monster Hunter part of the main campaign?
Monster Hunter takes place within Ironbound but is a separate adventure series with its own tier progression. It is an alternative route, not a prerequisite or a programme customers are expected to move on from.
Do I need the Adventurer’s Field Guide or Quest Log?
No. Current GymQuest programmes can be used without either companion product. The Field Guide explains fundamental training principles and exercise replacements. The Quest Log provides structured workout and progress tracking.
Can the Field Guide and Quest Log be used independently?
Yes. Both are digital tools that can stand alone. The Field Guide is relevant beyond a single campaign, while the Quest Log can support both gym and home training.

Training readiness

Before beginning a programme

GymQuest programmes are intended for general fitness and educational purposes. They are not personalised medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

Should I seek advice before starting?

If you have a medical condition, injury, recent surgery, are pregnant or have concerns about exercising, speak to an appropriate healthcare professional before starting. Follow any individual advice you have already received and begin at a level appropriate to your current health and activity.

When should I stop exercising?

Stop exercising if you experience pain, dizziness, faintness, chest pain, severe or unexplained shortness of breath, or another unusual or concerning symptom. Seek appropriate medical advice. Use local emergency services if symptoms may be an emergency.
